EUROCRAFT 46M EXPEDITION: By Italy’s Federico Fiorentino

Designed as a true crossover in collaboration with the Savona-based Eurocraft shipyard, the latest project from the studio of the talented Federico Fiorentino exhibits a radical and contemporary look combined with real explorer capabilities. Defined by a strong personality and a distinctively sharp aesthetic, for this project Fiorentino has focused acutely on optimizing comfort, reliability and offering remarkable efficiency during extended navigation. Measuring 150’ (46m) in length, the Eurocraft explorer is being offered to the market through Yacht & Villa International with an asking price of €23.25-million and a scheduled build time of between 24 and 30-months.

Dressed in a striking gray-blue livery with black and chrome accents, the rendering show the vast glazed surfaces are decorated with stainless steel stripes that run along the side of the yacht, the former providing a surfeit of natural light to the owner’s suite that is located forward on the main deck and the later a distinctive aesthetic. In his design Federico Fiorentino integrated elements typical of hardy commercial craft, for example the atypical bow with integrated fender is reminiscent of a tugboat’s prow. Within the full displacement hull form accommodation is provided for up to ten guests in five cabins, as well as provision for a crew of up to nine. Besides the master stateroom on the main deck, there are one full beam VIP cabin, two twins and one double cabin located on the lower deck.

With ocean crossing capabilities and optional Ice Class compliance, this vessel has been conceived to explore everywhere from the French Riviera to the Antarctic, all in absolute comfort and safety. Fiorentino also pointed out to us that the concept could easily adopt a state-of-the-art green hybrid propulsion system, to dramatically reduce fuel consumption, running costs and emissions. Thanks to great open aft deck spaces, this expedition yacht has the capacity to carry a retinue of tenders and toys not usually expected of a yacht of this size; for example a RIB and a limo tender of up to 33’ (10m) in length. On the aft section of the upper deck a helipad has been included, which of course can easily be transformed into an entertainment, relaxation or party space, while on the sundeck there are shaded seating areas, a bar and a pool.
